About the Artist
Virginia Howard
Virginia Howard is a visual artist working primarily in pencil, watercolor, and acrylic. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the sentimental and the timeless — often centered around East Coast New England boats, architecture, and objects that evoke memory and nostalgia. With a realistic approach and a soft touch, she captures the quiet beauty of places and things that hold personal and cultural significance.
Originally from the East Coast and now based in St. George, Utah, Virginia draws inspiration from the contrast between the coastal environments of her past and the desert landscapes she now calls home. Her paintings often explore the emotional resonance of place and the stories held within everyday objects.
Virginia has exhibited her work with the Dixie Watercolor Society, and has participated in the charity auctions called “Art in the Park” and “Oars in the Stores” in Chatham, MA. She hopes that her work will connect with viewers who find familiarity, warmth, and reflection in her detailed and heartfelt compositions.
