About the Artist
Beverly Mangum
Mangum was raised in Utah and loves the people and landscape here. Some of my subjects compel and urge my use of Oils. However, Watercolor is my favorite medium! It’s exhilarating! A transparent watercolor wash on white paper is parallel to the splendor of light itself.”
Her main source of art education has been through her own effort to read, study and practice as well as through many great artists she studied with in classes and workshops. Ms. Mangum feels the opportunity to sketch and paint gives every artist (amateur or professional), young and older, a great blessing
She has given instruction in watercolor techniques for over 30 years at various locations as well as her home studio. She loves teaching and igniting in her students a great excitement for the Arts and their own abilities.
She has displayed her art at the Lamplight Art Gallery/Bountiful, Utah, Eccles Art Center/Ogden, Utah, the Carriage House/Ogden, Utah, Bountiful Davis Art Center/Bountiful Utah, Layton Heritage Museum/Layton, Utah, Jackson Art Fair/Jackson, Wyoming, Altrusa International Art Show, Ogden/Utah, Moab Arts Festival/Moab, Utah, Gallery 35 in St. George, Utah, Dixie Sears Art Museum and Utah Division of Art and Museums Traveling Exhibit ‘Go Out and Play’ and a variety of other summer art venues.
She currently resides in St. George, Utah where she and her husband love to golf, walk, bike, and travel the trails throughout Southern Utah on their OHV. They have 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and four great grandbabies.
